Welcome! I am so glad you are here.
I guess this is where I’m supposed to say a couple things about who I am, so here goes:
I have a big family! 4 boys (soon to be 5 in August) and one sweet little girl. Our kids range in age from 13 to 2. Before you say it I will… We have our hands full!
I am a former pastry chef and restaurant cook turned stay at home Momma. I have been home with my babes for almost 9 years now but it feels like just yesterday that I was sharing my love of food with tons of other people through cooking at a restaurant. When I decided to stay home, I didn’t realize how much I would miss connecting through food, and that is exactly how this blog got started.
My first couple of years here, my blog was called 3boysunprocessed, so you may have navigated here and realized I have re-branded. At the time I began, I was super passionate about eating whole, unprocessed foods. I was pretty strict and held myself and my family to some serious standards.
While my views on food are certainly still holding a cooking from scratch mentality, I had to let go just a little of the “unprocessed” label as I want to be as true to my audience as possible. Of course we still eat whole and healthy foods 80% of the time, however there is 20% that I had to let go of a little bit. I had to realize that I will not be in control of everything my children eat for the rest of their lives and teaching them about balance instead of enforcing strict rules was a much better way to go about it. About 2 years ago, I decided to drop 3boysunprocessed and Pretty Little Apron seemed very fitting.
Besides babies and blogging, my other love in life is photography. I’ve spent the past 6 years growing and learning as much as I could about photography, and I’m super excited and happy each and every time I get to share my photography here. I’ve spent some time in many different niches of photography including newborns and family, but something always draws me right back to where I got started… food.
If you’d like to know more about my daily (crazy) life with 5 kids, and see pretty pictures of food make sure you come follow along on Instagram! I’d love to connect.
